«Born to Be Alive» è scritta dal cantante francese Patrick Hernandez. Diventa un successo mondiale e arriva al primo posto della classifica statunitense Billboard National Disco Action all'inizio del 1979. Il disco d'oro arriva negli Stati Uniti, in Brasile, Germania e Italia, il platino in Australia e Canada, l'argento nel Regno Unito.
Negli anni il pezzo viene ripreso più volte: Rick Summer nel 1979, Kelly Marie nel 1986 con una versione Hi-NRG che però non entra in classifica, i Disco Kings nel 2005 con un successo in Finlandia, Francia, Austria e Germania. Il video dei Disco Kings, montato su filmati dei raduni e dei discorsi di Adolf Hitler, diventa virale in rete.
